Rex Bumpus was raised in Lampasas Texas where his passion for the outdoors and almost every type of hunting sprung to life. His early years traipsing around Lampasas, San Saba, and Burnet county ranches fostered his passion and served as a “classroom” for his professional endeavors. After a few years of working on a ranch, Rex packed up and moved to College Station where he attended Texas A&M University. He graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology Management. Rex secured his Texas Real Estate sales license while he was still attending TAMU and upon graduation he opened Bumpus Real Estate in Lampasas. Rex is also a licensed real estate appraiser-trainee under Bumpus Appraisal Service. His formal TAMU education sharpened his knowledge of types of land, land use including land management & “highest & best use”, wildlife habitat, native vegetation, and hunting land. Building an appraisal background has only further strengthened Rex’s ability to serve both the buyer & seller of land. Rex enjoys hunting whitetail, turkey, dove, predator calling but his obsession is hunting hogs. He raises German Jag terriers used for baying and catching wild feral hogs and loves beating the woods down following the dogs and seeing them work. Rex has two wonderful boys Mason and McKane who relish spending time with their dad in the outdoors.
